Study 1

Circulation

In the villa savoye, circulation is about to pushing people up in a regular way, there are two ways people can go upstairs, one is the circular stairs, the other is the ramp. I tried to combine them together to represent the whole circulation of villa savoye. The three levels represent different spaces and how circulation system connect them together.

Study 2

Windows

"if you can see anything through the window, you actually see nothing." quote from Le Corbusier. In the villa savoye, the long horizontal windows around the second floor is what i am trying to study in study 2.I made a series of 2 boxes combined together and which contain many rectangular holes on theirs surfaces. Viewers can look through the holes and only see part of what they see.

Study 2-2

The circulation model in study 1 can actually fix into the window model in study 2. By doing this, I want to show how circulation and windows work together in this situation.

Study 3

Interior and exterior space

In study 3, I assume villa savoye is a big box which contain 3 layers. I used balsa to make the interior space and white board to represent the exterior. By doing this, Viewers can also easily tell the geometric shapes Le Corbuiser used in this house.
